2012 Fees and Information for Parents

Fees

Annual school fees are divided into two price categories - one for the main stream classes, the other for the "baby patch" classes.

A R500 non-refundable registration fee is payable by new pupils or siblings.

Main Stream (Plum, Sage, Lemon, Blueberry and Strawberry Groups)

All new children to please pay R145 Bag and Hat (with the name embroidered on) Fee.
The above includes fees for our music programme.

"Baby Patch" (Peppermint, Sapphire and Lilac Groups)

Baby group children are not included in the music programme as they will benefit more from it when they are three and in the Strawberry Group.

PLEASE NOTE: Children that are too young to start in the Lilac Group (18 months 2 years) at the beginning of the year will be subject to availability of a place later in the year.

Fees must be paid by the 5th of every month.

Cheques

If paying by cheque, please make sure these are made out to Faymer Pre-Primary School and are handed directly to Teresa in the school office with a breakdown on the back, e.g. Fees, Outings, Aftercare, etc.

Cash

It is important that you hand cash directly to Teresa so that she can count the money and receipt it or record it her petty cash book. The is will help prevent any disputes at a later stage.

Nappies to be supplied by yourself.

Notebooks

Please ensure that your child's notebook is at school every day. Kindly replace notebooks that have been destroyed, lost or damaged.

Aftercare

We offer full day aftercare. Please remember to write your childs name on the aftercare list on the front door. Invoices will be issued at the end of the month. Please phone by 11.00am if you wish your child to stay for aftercare, as Lorraine starts the lunch at that time.

Fees

Until 2pm:	R350 per month - excluding school holidays R520 per month including school holidays over 12 months R30 per day for casuals
Until 3pm:	R450 per month - excluding school holidays R620 per month including school holidays over 12 months R40 per day for casuals
Until 5pm:	R780 per month (including holidays) R55 per day for casuals

Casual Holiday Aftercare Fees per Day:

Until 12pm:	R40 (excluding lunch)
Until 2pm:	R50
Until 3pm:	R60
Until 5pm:	R75

School days and during the holidays parents to supply morning snack and juice. We will supply lunch (including pudding and juice) and the 3pm snack and juice.

School Times

Please ensure that your child is at school by 07h50.
Door will only be opened at 7h15 and not before, as teachers have duties to perform.
Children must be collected promptly at 12h00.
NB: Children who are collected after this time will be charged a pro rata aftercare fee.
Inform your childs teacher who is fetching your child, so that it can be recorded in the teachers Lift Book.

Security

PLEASE help us to keep our school premises safe by arriving and leaving on time in the mornings. Someone will be on duty until 08h00 in the mornings; thereafter the gate will remain locked and will NOT be opened. Please be on time and have your child at school by 07h50. Please help us to enforce this ruling so that we can ensure the safety of your children.

Clothing

All clothes must be marked. We are not responsible for clothing that is not marked.
Children in the Lilac and Peppermint Groups must have a complete change of clothing.
Paint used by the children is easily washed from clothing. However, please send your children in old clothes.
High heels, slipslops and long skirts should not be worn, as these can be dangerous when using outdoor apparatus.
The children in the Lilac and Peppermint Groups have their hands and faces washed and their clothing changed if necessary.
The children in the Lemon, Aquamarine and Strawberry Groups are encouraged to be independent. Do not expect clean children at the end of a busy day.

School Uniforms

Uniforms are compulsory for Plum and Sage Groups and optional for the other Groups. The uniform consists of denim shorts for the boys and skorts for the girls with T-shirts of various styles. There is also a track-suit and polar fleece top for winter.

General

Please send us a copy of both parents ID books
Please keep children who are not well at home.
If you need to contact any of the teachers, please phone us before 08h00, or between 10h00 and 11h30.
Excursions are arranged to places of interest. Non-working moms are invited to help on these excursions.
Progress reports are sent out at the end of the second and fourth terms.
Our school day includes many activities which cannot be taken home so do not expect a creative activity to be taken home each day. Dough modelling, baking, sand and water play are all introduced into our daily programme and are of great value to the children.

School Requirements

Each child should bring to school:
A plain lunch box and juice bottle clearly marked with your childs name.
Lunch should consist of a sandwich, fruit or any other healthy snack and juice.
Please discourage your child from bringing toys, sweets or removable jewellery to school.
Loans of suitable books and tapes are appreciated, when requested.

If you would like your child to stay for lunch on the day of the activity the cost is R30.00 for lunch.

Gold Plaques

You may have noticed the little gold plaques in the foyer. These may be purchased for the children when they leave the school so that they will be well remembered.

Please place money in an envelope with your child's name.

Please Note

Please notify us of any change of address or telephone number immediately. This is important in case an emergency should arise.

One term's notice is required when a child leaves.
