Little Red Hen is run by Fay Scholtz and Merle O'Shaughnessy. Fay has a TTHD (Johannesburg College of Education) and HED Pre-Primary (UNISA). Merle has a TTHD (Johannesburg College of Education), HED Pre-Primary (UNISA) and a Montessori Diploma (MCI).

For some of our new parents who may not know, Fay (Fay-Fay) and Merle (Merle-Merle) are sisters and are the co-owners of the school. Nor (Nor-Nor) who assists Merle in the Montessori Centre is their mother! Nor also prepares the Aftercare lunches so she is responsible for the lovely aroma in the kitchen at 12pm. (We do not know when, where or how our ‘nicknames’ came about!)

Our domestic staff, who have been with us for many years are Lorraine, Pinky, Princess, Goodness and Pretty. These wonderful, loyal helpers are indispensable and take wonderful care of all the children. Goodness is available for baby sitting if you need her.
